Mike Flahive

Mike Flahive is Simply Privacy's founder and Wellington Director. He is a senior privacy professional with more than 10 years experience in privacy practice. Mike was Assistant Privacy Commissioner from 2006 until 2014. He developed and managed the Privacy Commissioner's investigations and compliance functions and built a strong and trusted reputation within the public and private sectors. In addition to being Simply Privacy's Wellington Director, Mike is currently Chief Privacy Officer for NZ Police, leading a nationwide programme of significant privacy change for the organisation. Mike holds an LLB (Hons) and has worked in a private law practice and as in-house counsel for local government. He brings significant knowledge and experience working in both the private and public sector and in civil and criminal enforcement.

Daimhin Warner
director (Auckland)

Daimhin Warner is Simply Privacy's Auckland Director. He is a privacy professional with 10 years' privacy experience in both the public and private sector. Daimhin worked with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for 7 years, between 2007 and 2014, most recently managing the Commissioner's Auckland Investigations Team. Daimhin then moved to Sovereign Assurance, as their Privacy Officer. In this role, Daimhin provided operational and strategic privacy advice to all parts of the business, and developed and executed a privacy strategy and programme of work for the company. Daimhin holds an LLB from Edinburgh University and an LLM (Hons) in Public Law from the University of Auckland. Daimhin is Co-Chair of the International Association of Privacy Professional's (iapp) ANZ Certification Advisory Board and a member the NZ Subcommittee for iappANZ.

kathy longson
Consultant (wellington)

Kathy is Simply Privacy's Wellington Consultant. She has previously worked at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, as an Investigating Officer, and held roles at Archives New Zealand, including as a Senior Advisor in the Digital Sustainability Programme. Kathy has expertise in both the privacy and wider information management arenas, with a particular focus on privacy and digital information management issues, and familiarity with large and small scale IT development projects, change management processes and business analysis. Kathy holds an LLB and BA from Victoria University of Wellington.
