IAPP AI Governance Professional Training

As an Official Training Partner of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Simply Privacy is delighted to offer the globally recognised AI Governance Professional (AIGP) training and certification. AIGP explores how to develop, integrate and deploy responsible AI systems in line with emerging policy, laws and best practice.

As of 3 February 2025, the training will consist of four domains covering the following areas:

• Understanding the foundations of AI governance
• Understanding how laws, standards and frameworks apply to AI
• Understanding how to govern AI development
• Understanding how to govern AI deployment and use

Who is AIGP for?

The IAPP’s AI Governance Professional training is designed both for professionals who plan to certify and those who want to deepen their knowledge of AI governance. That includes  those who work in privacy, legal, governance, risk and compliance roles, data governance professionals, data scientists, AI project managers and anyone wanting a better understanding of AI systems, risks and governance.

What about the exam?

The AIGP exam is a three hour stand-alone assessment designed to determine professional competence and experience. It can be scheduled at a date and location to suit you. Information about the training and certification programme can be found in the AIGP Candidate Handbook and the Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional Body of Knowledge. Please note: the revised Body of Knowledge will apply from 3 February 2025.

Please note: the IAPP recommends training and studying for a minimum of 30 hours to prepare for the exam. While the course offers an opportunity to learn about critical AI governance concepts that are also integral to the AIGP exam, it is not purely a “test prep” course, nor does taking the training guarantee you will pass the exam.

• One year’s membership of IAPP (or a 12 month extension if you are already an IAPP member)

2. Training only package (no exam)

NZD $2,350 + GST, including:

• AIGP training
• Comprehensive course notes/participant guide
• A certificate of attendance
• One year’s membership of IAPP (or a 12 month extension if you are already an IAPP member)
• If you change your mind and decide subsequently that you want to sit the exam, this can be purchased separately via your IAPP membership account
