Frith joined the Simply Privacy team this year from Auror, where she was General Counsel and Chief Privacy Office as well as designing and implementing their Responsible AI framework.
Frith has wide privacy experience both in New Zealand and further afield. Following a 7 year stint in London, she returned to New Zealand where she advised Westpac on various data-related issues and established Vodafone NZ’s GDPR programme. She then led the New Zealand and Australian Digital Law team at EY Law, where she supported both New Zealand and Australian public and private sector organisations with PIAs, internal audits, gap assessments, policy development and general privacy advice. She has also advised numerous organisations on their multi-national privacy programmes across the UK, US, Europe, Australia, Canada and further afield.
Frith has a particular passion for considering the interface between digital technologies and privacy/ethics, including AI and biometrics. She is on the AU-NZ Advisory Board of the IAPP and the Executive Committee of the AI Forum NZ. Frith has an LLB (Hons) and a BA from Victoria University of Wellington.
In her downtime, Frith likes to hang out with family and friends, chill out with yoga and make the most of New Zealand’s great outdoors. While she’s currently trying to cut back on her caffeine intake, Frith always remains keen for a coffee and to catch up on the latest privacy developments.
