- At the end of October, Frith joined an IAPP South Australia KnowledgeNet Webinar to discuss “Practical AI Risk Management”, alongside Stela Solar from Australia’s National AI Institute and AI governance consultant Kobi Leins.
- This year, Daimhin worked with other experts to assist the Office of the Privacy Commissioner to develop Poupou Matatapu – a free online toolkit to help organisations do privacy well.
- In November, Frith spoke on the Business of Tech podcast about the AI year in review and what’s coming next. The discussion was facilitated by journalist Peter Griffin, alongside Stefan Korn, CEO of Callaghan Innovation, and Dave Howden, CEO of SupaHuman AI. You can listen to the podcast here.
- Emma ran a webinar for Volunteering NZ members on ‘Privacy for Beginners’, and Daimhin spoke to members of the Institute of Internal Auditors on ‘Privacy Considerations for Internal Audit’.
- In November, we all attended the IAPP ANZ Summit 2024 in Melbourne. At the Summit, Frith moderated an expert panel discussing practical aspects of generative AI governance, with speakers from Air NZ, Xero and CultureAmp, and Daimhin moderated a panel discussion on biometrics regulation, with experts from Air NZ, Meta and the Centre for Information Policy Leadership.
- Emma ran her popular workshop for new Privacy Officers and also a workshop for Privacy Officers on getting stuck into the nitty gritty of managing requests for access under the Privacy Act
- This week Frith was interviewed by the NZ Herald about privacy aspects of Apple Intelligence, the new AI offering from Apple. You can read the article here
